Reclaimed black bentwood stool from the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century of the company Jacob & Josef Kohn (Austria - Hungary). Kohn was thint's rival company, which temporarily merged with Thonet after the Great Depression.
The piano stool is made of solid beech wood and has a seat made of Viennese braid. The braid is in impeccable condition. The stool is very stable and can be adjusting in height from 45 cm to approx. 62 cm with the help of a steel spindle. The key attached to the spindle on the side is helpful for this: The spindle can be fixed in any desired position, as a result, the spindle does not wobble even when the raised state is high. The spindle is oiled and runs like new. The curved feet of the wide foot are held together at the bottom by a wooden cross.
The stool is again in a good overall condition: the shellac surface and some gluings have been renewed, the seat has been adjusted horizontally again. Only the large round seat is not exactly round - see picture no. 4. The stool is provided with the original Kohn logo under the seat.
