Restored piano stool from the traditional company Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna from the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. The piano stool is made of solid wood and has a frame with a bentwood ring. The curved feet are held together by the wooden ring made of bent wood. The stool is heavy and very stable. Height adjustable from 4) cm to approx. 6§ cm with a long spindle. The seat is made of so-called Viennese wickerwork, the other parts are made of solid beechwood. In this early model, the seat ring is still supported by a cross-shaped piece of wood, in later models this was replaced by metal. The spindle runs very well and has little play.
Restored condition: All screws are tightened. The hand-woven weave was expertly renewed in a Schwerin weaving workshop using an extremely durable cotton polymer weaving thread. The surfaces are coated with glossy black shellac. The stool has the original Thonet embossed stamp and remains of the paper label under the seat. Based on these remains, the production period can be narrowed down to between 1881 and 1922. Beautiful collector's item.
